Position: Intervention Support Teaching Assistant - Full-time
Location: Wavertree, Liverpool
Start Date: January 2026 - July 2026
Salary: £90 - £105 per day (dependent on experience)

Aspire People are working with a large, welcoming Primary School in Wavertree, Liverpool, that seeks a committed and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support pupils in KS1. This full‑time role starts in January and continues on a long‑term basis until July 2026.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to deliver small‑group interventions, while also providing targeted support to pupils within the classroom, including children with SEND needs. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school community that values inclusion, teamwork, and pupil progress.

The role
  • Supporting learning across KS1 through targeted interventions and small‑group work
  • Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and early maths development
  • Providing in‑class support for pupils with SEND, adapting tasks where required
  • Helping to implement individual support strategies and EHCP targets (where applicable)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with class teachers, SEND staff, and senior leaders
  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
What we're looking for
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
  • Confidence supporting small groups and intervention work in KS1
  • Experience supporting children with SEND (autism, ADHD, learning delays, etc.)
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • The ability to provide two professional references
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
