Position Overview

Support Services Assistant - Band 2 - Part time - 18 hours per week: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to work at the Darwin Unit. As Support Service Assistant you will be expected to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for patients, visitors and staff in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible on a day to day basis to provide a full domestic cleaning service to patient areas, offices and departments in accordance with work schedules, policies and procedures which will include: high and low dusting, vacuuming, wet mopping, waste management, use of floor cleaning equipment and general housekeeping. You will work as part of a team to provide cleaning and catering services in order to enhance the quality of the patient and staff environment on a regular and ongoing basis. You will also ensure that at all times quality standards are maintained in relation to the cleanliness and food provision and that legal requirements are met regarding the food service.

Provide cover during annual leave, sickness and absence which will include week ends, bank holiday and the requirement to cover in other Trust premises.

Previous domestic experience will be beneficial but there are no formal qualifications required for this post as you will be trained by our in-house supervisory team in the use of equipment and COSHH.
