A community support organization in Peterhead is seeking a female Support Practitioner to assist individuals with learning disabilities in their daily lives. The successful candidate will provide support in various aspects of normal living, such as cooking and personal care, while promoting community engagement and individual goals. A full UK manual driving license is required. The organization offers flexible working hours, training opportunities, and a supportive team culture.

Craigewan is a purpose-built facility which is home to 11 individuals with learning disabilities, all living in their own self-contained flats. The great thing about this job is that two days are never the same. As a Support Practitioner you'll provide support with all elements of normal every day living, including cooking, housework, finances, personal care and medication.
You’ll also play a huge part in supporting individuals to reach their goals and play an active part in their local community. Some of their hobbies and interests include baking, arts & crafts, hair & beauty treatments, pool, model trains & boats, walking, swimming & attending social events and concerts.
At Cornerstone we don't recruit on experience and qualifications. We're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need to build a career within the Health & Social Care sector. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your yearly SSSC registration fees too!
Your hours will usually be spread over 4 or 5 of 7 days and will include early mornings, days and evenings. Public holidays and weekends would also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
*For this position female is an Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
