Job description

Looking for a new job with satisfaction that you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as our amazing #TeamInchbrae in Aberdeen are on the lookout for a new female colleague to join them on a permanent (16‑39 hours per week) basis.

Our team and the ladies you'll support

You'll become part of a friendly team who supports three amazing ladies, all with various learning and physical disabilities, who live in their own home. You'll feel right at home there! There is a lovely homely feel and they also have a separate sensory room within the home.

Along with supporting the ladies with all aspects of daily living, they are fun‑loving and enjoy a busy social life, so you'll support them with their hobbies and interests too, which include swimming, arts & crafts, baking, music, movies and shopping trips and days out.

About You

At Cornerstone, we don't recruit on experience and qualifications; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need to build your career within the Health & Social Care sector. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your SSSC registration fees too!

For these particular opportunities we are ideally looking for you to bring a full UK driving licence with at least one year of experience on the roads, as one of the ladies we support has her own mobility car.

What we need you to bring
  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • A creative drive to improve the lives of the individuals you support
  • Good administration skills
  • Confidence to go in the water as swimming is a regular activity
  • Confidence in the use of computers

They have barriers to communication, so it is essential that you also bring an excellent grasp of the English language.

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual, shifts will fall into patterns of early mornings (from 0700 hours), days and evenings. Weekends, waking nights, sleepovers and public holidays will also form part of your work schedule on a rotational basis. When working a sleepover, the sleep part of your shift isn’t included in your contracted hours; you receive £100.80 per sleepover worked.

Please note that we are unable to work these contracted posts around a university or college timetable and/or placements.
