Job summary

Cornerstone Irvine, Scotland is looking for a friendly Support Practitioner to help a young man live life to the fullest. You’ll be out in the community, joining walks, activities and days out, and supporting him to build independence and reach goals.

We provide training and funded qualifications. You’ll work with a supportive team, and a full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; attitude and willingness to learn are valued.
• Must hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• Commitment to completing SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with training support.

Responsibilities

• Support a young man to enjoy life, participate in activities and build independence.
• Assist with walks, days out, bowling, music, and other community activities.
• Use computers and tablets as part of daily tasks and planning.

Shift Patterns

Our priority is making sure that the people we support receive consistent, high-quality support, so shifts will generally include early shifts and back shifts, with weekends, public holidays and sleepovers worked on a rotational basis.

Our sleepovers are separate from your contracted hours, so you'll receive an additional payment of £107.60 for every sleepover you work - giving you the opportunity to earn extra alongside your contracted hours.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
