Overview

Are you a people person who enjoys forming relationships? Why not join our team as a Support Practitioner in Cowal? With various shifts on offer, there are lots of opportunities to gain valuable experience within different settings.

We are looking for nurturing and supportive individuals who can work closely with a colleague as part of a team, providing high levels of care in the home. Our care-at-home service enables people to stay in their own homes by providing help with daily living. Our role is not to do things for people, but to work with them, and we support everyone differently.

As a Support Practitioner you will support people with all aspects of daily living by visiting them at home and in their communities. We adopt a person-centred approach to working with individuals who require support for a variety of reasons. We are looking for caring people who have a genuine passion for making a positive impact in their community, can stay calm under pressure, and communicate clearly and compassionately with others.

Responsibilities
  • Support people with daily living tasks by visiting them in their homes and communities.
  • Work with individuals using a person-centred approach to tailored support.
  • Collaborate with a colleague as part of a team to deliver high-quality care.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Full training (including SVQ qualifications) is provided along with regular support and supervision from your Service Manager.
  • The right values and motivation are essential; honesty, respect, empathy and compassion are key skills for team members.
  • Flexible to work a variety of shift patterns, including shifts suitable for those with children in school.
  • Candidates eligible to work in the UK or able to apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK (e.g. dependent visas, ancestry) that does not require sponsorship from Carr Gomm; proof will be requested prior to an offer of employment. It is currently policy not to offer sponsorship.
  • Drivers are essential.
