Job description
The Role

As a Support Practitioner, we guarantee heaps of job satisfaction. No two days are ever the same. You’ll play a HUGE part in making a difference in the lives of people living with disabilities and additional support needs in your local community based in Galashiels and the central Borders Area.

The people we support live busy active lives and strive to be seen and heard in their local communities. They have a wide variety of interests. These include gardening, music (both playing and listening), attending events and concerts, volunteering, going to premiership football games, arts and crafts, and much more. However they are always keen to learn from you.

About You

You don’t need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we’ll give you all the training you’ll need if you’re successful. We’ll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

All you’ll need to bring:

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • The ability to cook healthy meals
  • Confidence in the use of computer
  • Having a full UK manual drivers licence for this role would be preferred but isn’t essential
Shift Patterns

We understand the importance of a good work/life balance, so we try to be as flexible as possible with our shift patterns. Our team currently deliver support generally between 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. seven days per week. However there may be opportunities to pick up additional hours in one of our 24‑hour services.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can’t wait to hear from you!

Have any questions? If you’d like to find out more, please contact Andrew Will on 07770920614 or Mark Wilkes on 07770924569.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and reserve the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Please note – if you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
