Job summary

EthosEnergy is seeking a skilled maintenance specialist to oversee safe operation and reliable monitoring of Siemens Gas Turbine packages under a major client contract. Based in Lincoln or Aberdeen, the role involves leading planned and unplanned maintenance, coordinating spares, tooling and field support for rotating equipment engineers.

You will act as a SME, providing technical support, planning campaigns and developing proactive maintenance strategies, with offshore travel as required and

Qualifications

  • Experience with CMMS/ERP systems and risk assessment tools.
  • Detailed turbo engine experience and controls knowledge is advantageous.
  • Offshore certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance planning and execution for Siemens turbine packages.
  • Provide on-site technical support to rotation equipment engineers and technicians.
  • Coordinate with client and contractor teams on maintenance campaigns.
  • Develop method statements, work packs and change management responses.
  • Report on technical conditions, shutdown events and spare parts needs.

Job description

Responsible for the safe and reliable operation and monitoring of multiple Siemens Gas Turbine packages on a major client contract. Lead the preparation and execution of planned / unplanned maintenance interventions. Act as a subject matter expert providing ongoing technical support to rotating equipment engineers and site-based technicians.

This position can be based out of Lincoln or Aberdeen, UK.

Job Responsibilities
  • To comply with EthosEnergy and client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures always ensuring that all accidents/incidents/near misses/hazards are immediately reported, and relevant paperwork is completed.
  • Provide technical support for operational issues and actively contribute to client projects and initiatives to improve equipment uptime.
  • Lead planning and execution of routine maintenance, ensuring readiness for scheduled campaign maintenance (including availability of parts and consumables at site).
  • Understand SAP and able to raise any necessary notifications and plan work orders.
  • Support development, implementation and close out of management of change requests.
  • Act as hands on focal point/specialist, coordinating/providing technical and fault-finding support.
  • Active contribution/advising/coordinating frontline spares and critical spares holding.
  • Active contribution/advising/coordinating frontline hand tooling and specialised tool holding.
  • Active contribution/advising/ delivering contract projects and initiatives.
  • Active contribution in providing input into preparation of method statements and work packs.
  • Active contribution to client maintenance strategies to further develop and optimise maintenance planning.
  • Provide technical support in the development of complex manpower, purchasing and repair proposals.
  • Complete client required training to become Permit Authority trained.
  • Closely interface with other employees, contractors, and client’s personnel.
  • Perform any other delegated duties or tasks as instructed by your line manager.
  • Provide adequate levels of support to site-based engineers during scheduled/unscheduled maintenance (day to day, yearly service; overhaul).
  • Provide reports on a regular basis to direct hierarchy detailing technical conditions, shutdown events, troubleshooting and improvement recommendations regarding unit operation and spare parts.
  • Review reliability and availability data and report any anomalies.
  • Participate and contribute to optimising short- and long-term maintenance plans.
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • Ability to assist in all troubleshooting activities and effectively communicate with site-based teams
  • Able to analyse package running data.
  • Ability to provide hands on support and travel onshore or offshore (if required).
  • Understanding vibration behaviour of rotating machines.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, technical drawings and P&IDs.
Experience
  • Experience working with CMMS / ERP databases and operational risk assessment tools.
  • Extensive experience in a field service and/or operational support role.
  • Detailed Turbo Engine Experience in: TB5000 power generation packages including auxiliary systems; Turbine controls; Allen Bradley platform 3rd party control logic for high speed rotating equipment, HMI control, Norbit control systems; an advantage; Borescope Inspections.
Education Requirements
  • Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic degree or HNC/HND and relevant experience
  • Offshore certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel offshore in the UK sector.
  • This position can be based in Aberdeen or Lincoln UK
