Job summary

A mission-focused nonprofit in Plymouth is seeking a Support Coach to assist individuals with disabilities in developing their skills and gaining independence. The ideal candidate will have experience in the human services field and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Qualifications

  • Desire to make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
  • Experience with individualized support strategies preferred.
  • Valid MN driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

As a Support Coach, you will support people with disabilities to grow their skills and gain independence to the greatest extent possible, both on-site in a classroom setting and in the community. You will have fun while working and laugh every day with a great team!

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Wage: $19.00 per hour
How will you make a difference?

As part of our team, you will:

  • Assist individuals in participating in individual and group activities
  • Grow and develop people's social skills
  • Provide opportunities for independence, community integration, and inclusion
  • Maintain a calm, neutral tone, and emotion level when assisting people with disabilities, who are expressing heightened communication styles
  • Promote growth through achieving goals identified in their support plans including positive behavior support, communication, community integration, and other goals as specified
  • Implement other therapeutic plans that promote safety and well-being for individuals we support
  • Assist people with disabilities with their personal care needs
  • Provide physical activities such as, walking or stretching or exercise inside or outside of the classroom to keep our them active.
