Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking flexible, reliable Supply Teachers to cover Primary Schools across Merton. Start is from September 2026 with opportunities for daily supply, block bookings and part-time contracts.

You will deliver engaging lessons from the absent teacher’s planning, supervise pupils throughout the day, maintain positive behaviour, and complete day-to-day duties. QTS holders (ECTs welcome) are encouraged to apply.

Location: Merton, South West London Start Date: Flexible from September 2026 Travel: Public transport or driving Start Time: 8:15AM arrival

What to expect as a Supply Teacher

• Deliver engaging lessons using the absent teacher's planning.
• Supervise and support pupils throughout the school day, including lessons, break times and lunchtime where required.
• Maintain excellent classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Complete day-to-day teaching responsibilities, including registers, assemblies and other routine duties.
• Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment whilst following all safeguarding and health & safety procedures.

Pay

• 155 per day minimum for Early Career Teachers.
• 160- 165 per day for Fully Qualified Teachers.

The top end of the pay scale is generally offered to teachers willing to travel beyond their preferred distance discussed during registration.

The ideal applicant

• Qualified Primary Teacher with QTS (ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply).
• Flexible, adaptable and dependable.

• Happy to work across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
