Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEND Teacher to take responsibility for a well-established mixed KS2 class (Years 3-6) of 14 pupils, all working below the national curriculum. The class includes learners with a range of additional needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and SEMH. Some pupils also have visual impairments, though this is not their primary need. Many of the learners are developing their communication and use a variety of approaches such as Signalong, PODD, PECS, and other communication systems. You'll join a highly supportive team of teaching assistants, therapists, and specialist staff to deliver meaningful, engaging, and accessible learning experiences that support each child's EHCP outcomes and individual progress.

What We're Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Significant experience teaching in a special school setting
  • Strong understanding of autism, SLD, and SEN
  • Experience using or awareness of alternative communication methods (Signalong, PODD, PECS, etc.)
  • A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting every learner's personal and academic development
To Be Eligible You Must:
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Provide two professional, child-related references
