Supply SEN Teaching Assistant - Bradford

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Supply / Temporary

Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing

About the Role: The Education Network is currently recruiting for passionate and reliable Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist and mainstream schools in Bradford. These schools cater for pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex communication challenges.

As a Supply SEN TA, you will play a key role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance, encourage engagement, and create a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons and activities based on individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Support pupils with communication, sensory, or behavioural challenges using patience and positive reinforcement.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing among learners.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to support each child's development.
  • Maintain a calm and nurturing classroom environment that encourages learning and inclusion.
  • Support pupils with personal care or mobility needs, where required, while maintaining dignity and respect.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, care, or community setting experience welcome).
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and resilience to adapt to different school settings.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential.
