About the Role

The Education Network is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school located in the BD16 area. This welcoming and inclusive school caters for children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

As a Supply SEN TA, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning, emotional development, and wellbeing. Working closely with class teachers and the wider support team, you will help deliver personalised learning activities and create a positive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with diverse special educational needs.
  • Support students in developing confidence, communication, and independence skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through patience and consistency.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
  • Adapt resources and learning materials to suit varying abilities and sensory needs.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (school or care setting experience welcome).
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, positive, and flexible in a dynamic school environment.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
