The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking Secondary Supply Teachers to join the district’s register for mainstream and special schools, with placements across various locations.

Must be GTCS registered (full or provisional), available for the 2026/2027 session, and willing to undergo PVG checks. Salary is in the Teaching Staff Scheme: £36,159 to £54,453.

The City of Edinburgh Council would like to invite applications from Secondary Teachers who wish to be added to our Secondary Teaching Supply register to teach in either Secondary Mainstream or Secondary Special Schools, or both.

This post is only for Secondary Supply Teachers who are GTCS registered (Full or Provisional).
You must be available to undertake supply work during the 2026/2027 academic session.
If you are interested in applying, you must have the appropriate sector GTCS registration and be available to accept placements once pre-employment checks have been completed.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
