Job summary

An educational institution in the UK seeks a Supply Equine Technician to demonstrate equine skills and supervise students. Job description
Supply Equine Technician

Location: Easton College Equine Centre

Hours: As and when required (no set hours)

Pay: £14.43 - £15.67 per hour including holiday pay

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate equine skills to groups of students and supervise yard duties.
  • Assist with equine husbandry, health monitoring, exercise, and record keeping.
  • Ensure the highest standards of horse welfare and industry best practice.
Qualifications
  • Genuine team player with excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a busy, flexible environment.
  • Practical experience in yard duties (mucking out, feeding) and riding (walk, trot, canter, and jumping).
  • Ideally, a BHS Stage 2 qualification – although strong equine experience will be considered.
Additional Details
  • Supply role with no set hours; flexibility is key.
  • Support may be required during weekends, bank holidays, and college holidays.

Safer Recruitment Checks

As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service. From 28 November 2020 the government implemented changes to the filtering rules, and we have been instructed that we cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates that have been issued before this date. Therefore a new check must be completed with City College Norwich.
