Supply Childcare Practitioner

Zero Hour
£10.50 if Level 2, £10.88 if L3

The Octagon and Fenchurch nurseries are looking to recruit flexible nursery practitioners to work across both sites to cover staff sickness, training and holidays on a flexible basis. Practitioners should be able to adapt their skills to work with a range of children from 0 – 5 years old.

Responsibilities
  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in accordance with the Childcare Act 2004.
  • To support the room lead and staff team in covering absent staff, caring for children and helping room leaders to keep the day‑to‑day running of the rooms going smoothly.
  • To provide a stimulating, well‑resourced and welcoming environment, both inside and outdoors, which supports children’s all‑round development and emotional well‑being; and provides a range of experiences that develop children’s independence and cooperation.
  • To support the Senior Early Years Practitioner in the care, education and well‑being of the children in the room you are in.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Have Early Years qualification minimum Level 2.
  • Have experience working in an Early Years setting.
  • Have the ability to adapt and be flexible enough to work with different children and staff and support the team leader during times of staff absence.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of Children’s Centres.
  • Have knowledge of child development and ability to remain child‑focused.
