Salary

£110,000 to £140,000 depending on experience with executive benefits

What you’ll be doing
  • Accountable for logistics, warehousing and distribution for the Air sector; optimising inventory availability across domestic and international markets
  • Accountable for ensuring the efficient and effective management and movement of material between our suppliers, industrial partners, internal operations and customers across all phases of the lifecycle
  • You will be the Air sector’s main interface with external commercial service providers, internal Group shared services and customer logistics organisations across the globe
  • Working as part of the procurement leadership team the role holder will be accountable for Procurement Operational Performance across the sector working across the relevant areas including non-recurring, production and support
  • Lead Transformation inclusive of Performance Improvement projects
  • Lead Warehouse logistics and inventory management performance improvement projects
  • Integration with other Performance improvement projects
  • Work with the value streams to drive operational excellence through improvements in on time in full deliveries, driving schedule adherence and quality outputs
  • Lead and inspire the procurement delivery team, setting strategic vision and objectives and driving performance
  • Champion improvements to drive procurement efficiency and modernisation of processes and toolsets through standardising, simplifying and utilizing technology to enhance the way we work and improve the employee experience
  • Work as an integral part of the leadership team across the sector and enterprise to influence the business strategy, helping to set and deliver a business and functional IBP aligned with the company strategy
  • Likely to interface with Senior Leaders within the business, likely to interface with C Suite within the organisation and the supply base. Likely to have a seat within a business / project / contract Management Committee
Your skills and experiences
Essential
  • Proven experience or directing a Supply and Logistic transformation background within a global organisation
  • Broad and comprehensive experience of Procurement competence demonstrated across the procure to pay lifecycle
  • Considerable leadership experience working within procurement and/or similar environment. This should include:
  • Experience of managing large budgets
  • Experience of managing large multi-functional teams
  • Excellent project management skills, product awareness, commercial acumen, financial awareness, risk and opportunity management
Desirable
  • Excellent understanding of the defence market, the external environment it operates in and relevant market intelligence gained through leadership roles within the domain

The Supply Chain Transformation team

In this key leadership role, you’ll own logistics, warehousing, and distribution across the Air sector—ensuring materials and inventory flow efficiently worldwide. You’ll be the primary link between suppliers, industrial partners, shared services, and customer logistics teams, driving operational excellence throughout the product lifecycle. Leading transformation and performance improvements, you’ll modernise procurement processes, optimise delivery and quality, and inspire a high-performing team. As a strategic voice in the business, you’ll influence sector-wide strategy and confidently engage with senior leaders.
