Job summary

JD GROUP seeks an experienced security and supply chain risk professional to oversee operations across distribution centres and supplier networks. You will ensure KPIs are met, lead investigations, and liaise with third-party partners to mitigate risk while supporting strategic development across the DC network.

The role requires strong organisational skills, English fluency, GDPR awareness, and the ability to travel within the UK for meetings and site checks.

Qualifications

• Well organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage workloads
• Interview trained (Wicklander/Police)
• Knowledge of supply chain/logistics movements
• Fluent in English both written and oral
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Understanding of Microsoft Office and data handling
• Understanding of GDPR and its implications for a business breach
• Ability to travel within the area designated and into the UK for meetings

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas of responsibility are performing within the needs of the business and KPIs where relevant are being met
• Conduct regular one to ones and appraisals with immediate reporting lines
• Conduct investigations and root cause analysis of incidents, liaising with other areas of the business as required
• Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure compliance in the supply chain and mitigate risk
• Review SOPs to ensure they are fit for purpose and amend where necessary
• Review losses in the supply chain and work with the Profit Protection Team to resolve
• Provide specialist security and supply chain risk advice to the wider business
• Work with Distribution Centre management to support strategic development and implementation
• Challenge and ensure compliance of policies and procedures in DCs and supply chain
• Produce reporting from all areas of responsibility
• Investigate sensitive internal matters as required
• Develop new and improved ways of protecting the supply chain and DCs
• Act as out-of-hours point of contact and attend incidents when necessary
• Attend meetings and build relationships with key stakeholders (IT/HR)
• Conduct checks and reviews at DCs and 3rd party suppliers
• Work with partners and agencies to gather intelligence and reduce risk
• Visit subsidiaries and satellite locations to verify checklists and security processes
• Promote the department’s mission and values among direct reports
• Develop and liaise with stakeholders regarding Modern Day Slavery policy
• Conduct disciplinary hearings when required
• Perform adhoc tasks as needed
• Review data and incidents for accuracy and feedback
• Carry out epod compliance checks with drivers and PP colleagues
• Perform out-of-hours site checks to ensure security
• Ensure hubs/DCs use group security methods and models
• Continually develop security within the supply chain
• Ensure physical and technical security is functioning and faults are fixed promptly
• Promote corporate policies across the group
• Conduct field checks on drivers to ensure process adherence
• Investigate discrepancies within the supply chain
