Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and results‑driven Supply Chain Planning Analyst to support both retail and online channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing inventory levels, improving supply chain efficiency, and ensuring seamless operations across multiple sales platforms. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience in supply‑chain management, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve business objectives in a hybrid retail and online environment.
Job Title: Supply Chain Planning Analyst – 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 plus a 15% bonus.
Hours: 37.5 per week (some weekend and evening work may be required for emergencies and projects).
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse historical sales data and market trends to forecast demand for both retail and online channels across all relevant divisions.
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts that align with business strategies and seasonal trends.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and e‑commerce teams to refine forecasts and ensure accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels across retail stores and online platforms to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
- Implement inventory optimisation strategies to improve turnover rates and reduce aged inventory.
- Ensure accurate inventory records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Manage full‑life‑cycle inventory management.
- Identify inefficiencies in the supply chain and propose actionable solutions for both retail and online operations.
- Work with suppliers, logistics partners, and distribution centres to streamline procurement and fulfilment processes.
- Analyse lead times, delivery schedules, and supplier performance to enhance supply‑chain reliability.
- Use data analytics tools to generate reports on supply‑chain performance metrics for both channels.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve decision‑making at all levels of the organization.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply‑chain efficiency, such as order fulfilment rates and inventory accuracy.
- Manage sales‑planning reports up to six months into the future and monthly performance estimations.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including commercial, logistics, retail operations, and e‑commerce.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on supply‑chain goals.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications
- Supply‑chain, demand planning, and forecasting experience within a retail or FMCG business.
- Knowledge of advanced planning techniques (S&OP, capacity planning, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and collaborate within a team.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Experience working for a consumer technology retailer.
- Five years of merchandising experience within retail.
- Strong analytical background with proven experience in supply‑chain planning, forecasting, and inventory management within a retail or consumer technology environment.
