Supply Chain Manager – Manufacturing

Wickford, Essex | £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

Monday to Friday 7:30am- 4:30pm

We’re currently partnering with a market‑leading manufacturer who are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join their expanding procurement team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to play a key role in a dynamic and forward‑thinking organisation. The successful candidate will support strategic decision‑making across the business, working closely with the Procurement Manager and Directors to deliver commercial insight and drive value across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Planning

• Forecast demand and conduct market research to identify suppliers aligned with strategic goals.
• Analyse cost trends and manage procurement using MRP and forecasting tools.
• Oversee inventory and liaise with freight forwarders to ensure cost‑effective, timely shipments.

Procurement Operations

• Support daily procurement activities and manage supplier performance via KPIs and SLAs.
• Build strong supplier relationships and attend industry events both in the UK and abroad.

Procurement Strategy

• Contribute to procurement strategy development and lead cost‑saving initiatives.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and optimise inventory based on customer demand.

Risk Management

• Identify and mitigate procurement risks, monitor industry trends, and ensure ethical sourcing.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and support buyers within the team, ensuring alignment with KPIs and performance goals.

Systems & Technology

Support digital transformation initiatives and leverage technology to streamline procurement processes.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience in inventory and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• CIPS qualified or working towards qualification.
• Has proven experience in a senior procurement role.
• Possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a solid understanding of contract law.
• Manufacturing sector experience.
