Job summary

MacGregor Black, on behalf of a leading food business, is recruiting a Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chains from procurement to delivery in Sunderland.

The role requires hands-on leadership in food manufacturing, strong OTIF focus, supplier management, and a track record with major UK retailers, delivering transformation and cost efficiencies in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• End-to-end supply chain experience in food manufacturing.
• Experience serving major UK retailers.
• Procurement, demand planning, production planning, stock management and logistics experience.
• Experience with raw material suppliers and third-party logistics providers.
• Strong OTIF, service levels, waste, stock and cost understanding.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and commercial skills.
• Hands-on approach and ability to work in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the complete supply chain from raw material procurement through to customer delivery.
• Continuously improve service levels, efficiency, stock availability and supply chain performance.
• Build strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
• Own supply and demand planning, ensuring production is aligned with customer requirements.
• Manage stock levels and minimise shortages and waste.
• Move finished products from factory to customers and distribution centres.
• Manage retailer forecasts, orders, and changes in demand.
• Monitor key supply chain KPIs such as OTIF and costs.

Are you an experienced Supply Chain leader within the FMCG industry?

Do you have a proven track record of leading end to end supply chains including procurement and all planning areas?

Are you operationally focussed with the ability to drive efficiencies and support an FMCG business through transformation and growth?

MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading food business on the search for a Supply Chain Manager. This is a PERM role based in Sunderland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the complete supply chain from raw material procurement through to customer delivery.
• Continuously improve service levels, efficiency, stock availability and supply chain performance.
• Build strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
• Own supply and demand planning, ensuring production is aligned with customer requirements.
• Manage stock levels and minimise both shortages and unnecessary waste.
• Manage the movement of finished products from the factory through to customers and retail distribution centres/stores.
• Manage retailer forecasts, orders, delivery requirements and changes in demand.
• Establish and monitor key supply chain KPIs, including OTIF, stock availability, waste, forecast accuracy, supplier performance and logistics costs.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in an end-to-end supply chain management role.
• Significant experience within food manufacturing– essential.
• Experience managing supply chains serving major UK retailers.
• Strong understanding of procurement, demand planning, production planning, stock management and logistics.
• Experience managing raw material suppliers and third-party logistics providers.
• A strong understanding of OTIF, service levels, waste, stock and supply chain costs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.
• Strong analytical and commercial skills.
• A hands‑ on approach – someone who is prepared to get into the detail and personally resolve issues rather than simply delegate them.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.

Salary – up to £70k + package
