Job summary

AVIC Cabin Systems UK seeks a Supply Chain Manager to lead Goods Receipt, Stores, Kitting, Despatch and Logistics across two regulated aerospace sites. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Quality and Engineering to ensure on-time delivery and robust governance.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, focus on continuous improvement, and deliver SQCDP outcomes while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Travel to sites as required.

Job description

Purpose

As Supply Chain Manager, you will be a key member of the Supply Chain leadership team with accountability for Goods Receipt, Stores, Kitting, Despatch and Logistics operations, while ensuring effective integration and collaboration with Procurement.

The role is responsible for enabling seamless product and information flow across the supply chain, supporting both on-time customer delivery and operational performance across ACS UK's OEM NPI and Aftermarket Spares environments. Operating across two sites within a highly regulated aerospace environment, you will lead multiple supply chain disciplines, manage complex customer and product requirements, and drive operational excellence through strong governance, cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

• Lead and develop teams across Goods Receipt, Stores, Kitting, Despatch and Logistics, fostering a high-performance culture aligned to ACS UK values.
• Manage resources, workload distribution, organisational efficiency and capacity planning across all disciplines.
• Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, training, succession planning and performance management.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting collaboration, trust and accountability.

Supply Chain Operations

• Establish and maintain effective processes, controls and governance across all supply chain disciplines.
• Maintain accountability for:
  • Inbound logistics, imports and customer Free-Issue materials.
  • Goods receipt and product flow into inspection and stores.
  • Inventory management, stock control and stores operations.
  • Picking and kitting activities supporting production requirements.
  • Packing and fulfilment activities for customer and subcontract requirements.
  • Outbound logistics, exports and customer deliveries.
• Drive effective integration with Procurement to ensure seamless process handovers and operational alignment.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks that could impact operational flow or customer delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Operations, Programmes and other functions to remove process barriers and resolve operational issues.
• Deliver performance against Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP) objectives through robust performance management and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, trade compliance and company requirements.
• Support production meetings, operational reviews and wider business governance activities.

Business Improvement & Governance

• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, improve capability and reduce waste.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce costs, remove bottlenecks and improve supply chain resilience.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, business planning and monthly performance reviews.
• Represent Supply Chain during leadership reviews, customer audits, regulatory assessments and financial audits.
• Act as deputy to the Head of Supply Chain when required.

Key Performance Measures

Performance will be measured through:

• Safety incidents and accident performance.
• Headcount versus budget.
• Goods Receipt cycle time (target <24 hours).
• Goods Receipt quarantine items exceeding 30 days.
• Inventory stock accuracy.
• Kitting backlog performance.
• Despatch OTIF (On Time In Full).
• Logistics cost versus budget.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Experience

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain Management, including warehousing, inventory management and logistics.
• Knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing environments, particularly aerospace, OEM, NPI and low-volume production operations.
• Good understanding of Procurement principles and supply chain planning.
• Experience operating ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Microsoft Project.

Education

• Degree-qualified preferred, although relevant experience and vocational qualifications will also be considered.
• CIPS, Advanced Practitioner or equivalent professional qualification desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.

Professional Experience

• 7+ years' experience within manufacturing, preferably aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
• 3+ years' experience within NPI, build-to-specification or low-volume manufacturing environments.
• 5+ years' experience managing end-to-end supply chain functions, including warehousing, stores, logistics, kitting and despatch.
• Experience leading multi-disciplined teams of 20+ employees across supply chain and procurement operations.
• Strong understanding of supply chain planning and MRP systems.
• Experience in procurement, sourcing, negotiation and contracting is desirable.
