SALARY: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE) + Benefits

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager within a growing and dynamic fresh fish manufacturing organisation. As a Supply Chain Manager you will manage the entire supply chain function, driving efficiency, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high product standards across the process. The role requires leading procurement, logistics, and planning teams, developing supplier relationships, managing imports and exports, and ensuring smooth coordination with production and distribution partners. This role is ideal for a results‑driven individual with strong analytical and organisational skills, exceptional Excel ability, and a background in food manufacturing, logistics, or short‑life products.

Responsibilities
  • Procurement: develop and manage relationships with a global network of suppliers to ensure a consistent and cost‑effective supply of high‑quality raw materials; negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance.
  • Import and Export: oversee all import and export operations, including managing documentation, customs procedures, and compliance with all relevant food safety and trading regulations.
  • Planning: take charge of demand planning and forecasting to ensure optimal inventory levels across the business; work closely with production teams to create a seamless operation.
  • Logistics: manage and coordinate all logistics and distribution activities, working with third‑party transport providers to ensure timely and temperature‑controlled deliveries to customers.
  • Data and Systems: analyse supply‑chain data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement; create forecasting models and performance reports in Excel; experience with supply‑chain software.
  • Team Leadership: lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing supply‑chain team to meet departmental and company goals.
Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in a senior supply‑chain or procurement role within the fresh food, short‑life or fish manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrable expertise in procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • A proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost‑saving initiatives.

Desirable

  • Experience with specialist supply‑chain software such as SI (Systems Integration).
  • A degree in Supply‑Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
