Job summary

Nero is seeking a Supply Chain & Demand Planner in Manchester to own stock, suppliers and global logistics. This role offers significant autonomy and direct collaboration with the Founder to build scalable systems during rapid growth.

You will own demand planning, inventory strategy and end-to-end supply chain management, shaping how stock flows across regions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years across Supply Chain, Demand Planning or Operations in a fast-growing DTC/eCommerce environment.
• Proven demand planning experience with growth; discuss forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, stockouts and stock cover.
• Strong analytical capability with quantitative background (e.g., Economics, Mathematics).
• Advanced spreadsheet skills; ability to build forecasting models from scratch.
• Hands-on logistics experience including bookings, supplier lead times and 3PLs.
• Knowledge of Shopify and warehouse systems; include ASNs and inventory reconciliation.
• Understanding of cash flow and inventory carrying costs; impact of stock decisions.
• Experience with international logistics, customs, tariffs and import/export docs.
• Experience in fashion/jewellery/lifestyle/eCommerce is highly relevant.
• Comfort with AI tools to accelerate analysis and automate workflows.

We've partnered with Nero, one of the most exciting premium activewear brands in the market, who are looking to hire a Supply Chain & Demand Planner to take ownership of stock, suppliers and global logistics.

This is a high-impact role within a business currently tripling year-on-year, with the opportunity to work directly with the Founder and build the systems and processes required to support the next stage of growth.

The Role

As Supply Chain & Demand Planner, you’ll own demand planning, inventory, supply chain and global logistics end-to-end.

Demand planning sits at the heart of this role. Getting the right stock, in the right quantities, into the right region at the right time is critical to the continued growth of the business.

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely excellent at forecasting, someone who has built and owned forecasting models through periods of rapid growth rather than simply maintaining an existing process.

You’ll work directly with the Founder as part of a small, close-knit team, with significant autonomy to improve processes, identify inefficiencies and help shape how the supply chain function scales.

Demand Planning & Inventory Strategy

• Build and own sales forecasting models using historical sales, growth rates, marketing calendars and seasonality.




• Forecast stock requirements across products, categories and regions.




• Strategically allocate inventory across UK and US warehouses to maximise availability while minimising overstock.




• Monitor sell-through rates and identify opportunities for stock or pricing adjustments.




• Manage fabric consignment arrangements with suppliers, ensuring reserved fabric is available for emergency purchase orders.




• Run cycle counts and stock reconciliations, investigating shrinkage and discrepancies.




• Report weekly to the Founder across weeks of cover, sell-through and reorder requirements.




• Plan purchase orders against cash flow and flag early when inventory requirements don't align with the cash position.

Supply Chain & Suppliers

• Own relationships with fabric, garment and packaging manufacturers in China, Portugal and Italy




• Use forecasting, order sheets and historical data to confirm quantities and place purchase orders.




• Negotiate and manage supplier lead times.




• Partner with Product Development on new launches, ensuring production and freight timelines remain aligned.




• Own the resolution of production defects and quality issues, including supplier claims, returns and faulty stock.

Packaging

• Take complete ownership of packaging across the business.




• Source and manage packaging suppliers and negotiate unit costs.




• Forecast packaging requirements in line with projected business growth.




• Ensure branded packaging reaches manufacturers ahead of production and never becomes a blocker to a purchase order.

Global Logistics & Warehouse Operations

• Book international shipments through freight forwarders and manage customs and delivery schedules.




• Generate Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) for warehouses and ensure shipments arrive on agreed dates.




• Monitor warehouse SLAs across receiving speed, dispatch accuracy and inventory integrity.




• Maintain inventory synchronisation between Shopify and warehouse management systems.




• Own relationships with fulfillment and 3PL partners, resolving issues and chasing delayed shipments. US and UK based.




• Audit 3PL, freight and duty invoices against agreed quotes and recover billing errors.

SKU & Product Management

• Provide manufacturers with accurate SKUs, barcodes and HS codes.




• Generate and manage barcode creation through the GS1 account.




• Maintain accurate product and inventory information across internal systems.

Strategy & Process Improvement

• Identify gaps and inefficiencies across forecasting, logistics and supply chain operations.




• Recommend opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.




• Help streamline relationships and processes across manufacturers, freight partners and warehouses.




• Own the selection and implementation of inventory planning tools as the business moves beyond spreadsheet-based planning.




• Use AI, automation and modern technology to reduce manual work and improve the speed and accuracy of decision-making.

Requirements

• 3+ years' experience across Supply Chain, Demand Planning or Operations, ideally within a fast-growing DTC or eCommerce business.




• Proven demand planning experience through significant growth, with the ability to discuss forecast accuracy, inventory turns, stockouts and stock cover in detail.




• Strong analytical capability, ideally supported by an Economics, Mathematics or other quantitative background.




• Advanced spreadsheet skills with the ability to build forecasting models from scratch.

• Experience with international logistics, customs, tariffs and import/export documentation.




• Experience within fashion, jewellery, lifestyle or eCommerce would be highly relevant.




• Comfortable using AI tools and automation to accelerate analysis, improve workflows and eliminate repetitive manual tasks.
