Job summary

ABP UK is offering an apprenticeship opportunity in the Planning and Procurement Department. You will gain exposure to both planning and procurement, learning the key skills needed to keep operations accurate and efficient during busy periods and staff absence.

Role includes raising POs, stock reconciliation, and liaising with suppliers and internal departments. The placement emphasises safety, initiative, and teamwork as you complete a Level 3 Supply Chain Apprenticeship.

• Must be organised and able to use initiative.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work in a busy production environment and learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of goods into production to ensure stock without excess.
• Raise purchase orders and interact with suppliers to manage stocks/deliveries.
• Understand material requirements to meet the production plan and source accordingly.
• Reconcile stock levels and update systems.
• Build production plans and maximise efficiency while minimising waste.
• Provide strong customer service levels and liaise with departments to finish tasks on time.
• Be the first point of contact for the plan and coordinate with the factory.

Job description

Role Definition:

• This is a perfect opportunity to be introduced to Planning and Procurement Department. The role will give you exposure to both parts of the business. Learning all the key skills necessary to ensure they run as accurately, efficiently and smoothly as possible during busy periods and annual leave / absence

• Procurement key responsibilities:
• Ability to manage the flow of goods into Doncaster ensuring the factory has what it needs and not too much
• Raising of purchase orders
• Interacting with our suppliers to manage stocks and delivery of goods
• Understanding what material is needed to complete the production plan and where to purchase from
• Reconciling stock levels
• Updating systems to keep them accurate
• Liaising with multiple departments ensuring the jobs are completed in time

• Planning key responsibilities:
• Building a production plan
• Ensuring plans are as efficient as possible whilst minimising waste
• Delivering strong customer service levels
• Maintaining company systems
• Allocating raw material to the factory
• Highlighting anomalies in Customer orders when they land
• Liaising with multiple departments ensuring the jobs are completed in time
• 1st point of contact for the factory regarding the plan
