Supply Chain & Demand Planner – Basildon, Essex

£40,000 – £48,000 per annum | Permanent | Full-Time

Noble Recruiting are working with a leading distributor within the FMCG industry to recruit a Supply Chain & Demand Planner based in Basildon, Essex.

This role is ideal for an analytical and collaborative professional with strong experience in forecasting, logistics, and supply planning. You’ll work cross-functionally with Logistics, Shipping, and Warehouse teams to manage supply operations and use data from Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Retail partners to forecast demand accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all forecasting activities for assigned customers and product lines
  • Evaluate and challenge sales forecasts provided by third parties
  • Develop and refine statistical demand models using historical and current data
  • Integrate insights from Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Retail teams
  • Lead monthly forecasting and alignment meetings with cross-functional departments
  • Monitor and improve forecast accuracy and demand planning processes
Shipping & Logistics Coordination
  • Oversee outbound shipment schedules and carrier relationships
  • Align shipping plans with demand forecasts to reduce costs and delays
  • Ensure compliance with shipping and regulatory documentation
  • Collaborate with warehouses and freight partners to resolve logistics issues
Inventory & Supply Alignment
  • Translate demand plans into inventory strategies for new and existing products
  • Identify and anticipate stock imbalances
  • Analyse replenishment and shipping data to support procurement
  • Act as the first point of contact for the warehouse and track KPIs with the Finance Manager
Experience Required
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and forecasting tools
  • Proven experience in demand planning or supply chain management
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
