Role

To co‑ordinate, facilitate and deliver on key projects to improve Supply Chain Operations within the Logistics department. This role will focus on the execution of several projects, which will require the use of new and innovative solutions to support the goals of the business. The role requires interaction with several stakeholders in various functions up to board level.

An opportunity has arisen for a placement student to take on an incredibly exciting role working with our UK Supply Chain team in the Logistics department. We are looking for someone who is ready to take on the challenge of supporting and managing projects that will impact our customers and the way we manage, store, and distribute our products. We are also looking for someone who is ready to take on the challenge of using their data analytical skills to support the introduction of key projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the supply chain team in delivering key projects.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end improvements within PPG's operations that will directly improve efficiency and quality.
  • Building relationships with key project stakeholders to effectively drive change within the business.
  • Create innovative ideas to track quality and service across the Supply Chain.
  • Create and communicate analysis of data providing insights of the supply chain visibility end to end.
Knowledge & Skills
  • The desire, passion, and courage to deliver several ground‑breaking supply chain initiatives
  • The ability to adapt and learn when faced with new environments.
  • Ability to influence and achieve results through others.
  • Can communicate and present very effectively and clearly to stakeholders up to board level in various countries.
  • The skills to mobilise and focus cross functional, multi‑site, multi business teams on achieving deadline driven results
  • Ability to negotiate for the optimal outcome
  • The ability to analyse data and articulate the results of that data to numerous stakeholders to help support change in the business.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Currently in their 2nd year of university studying for a degree in a related field (Supply Chain Management, Business with Logistics, Logistics)
  • Project management skills

  • Data creation and analysis
  • IT literate in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
