Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a hands-on Supplier Quality Manager for a 100% site-based role in Woking, Surrey. You will lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, drive containment, supplier recovery and continuous improvements in a low-volume automotive environment.

Requirements include a technical engineering degree, 7+ years in supplier quality, and strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, 8D and root cause analysis. Immediate start offered.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers.
• Manage supplier containment, CSL1/CSL2, and supplier recovery activities.
• Act as escalation point for critical supplier quality issues.
• Ensure robust containment plans to protect production.
• Drive supplier corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys and structured problem solving.
• Monitor supplier KPIs including PPM, escapes and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Programme teams.
• Provide regular reporting on supplier performance and recovery plans.
• Support supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Supplier Quality Manager

Location: Woking, Surrey (100% Site Based)

Salary: £33.00 - £36.00 per hour (Inside IR35)

Our client is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, driving supplier performance, containment activities and quality improvements across a complex, low-volume manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on quality professional with strong leadership experience within the automotive sector.

Supplier Quality Manager Position Overview

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers.
• Manage supplier containment, controlled shipping (CSL1/CSL2) and supplier recovery activities.
• Act as the escalation point for critical supplier quality issues.
• Ensure robust containment plans are implemented to protect production.
• Drive supplier corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Monitor supplier KPIs including PPM, quality escapes and corrective action performance.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Programme teams to minimise disruption.
• Provide regular reporting on supplier performance and recovery plans.
• Support supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Supplier Quality Manager Position Requirements

• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years' experience within Supplier Quality, Supplier Development or Supplier Quality Assurance.
• Previous experience managing or leading Supplier Quality teams.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, GD&T, 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience managing supplier containment and recovery activities including CSL1 & CSL2.
• Background within Automotive, Motorsport, OEM, Tier 1 or advanced manufacturing.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
