Job description
Role Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) serves as the primary liaison between Husqvarna’s manufacturing operations and its supply base, ensuring that supplier-related quality issues are effectively managed and resolved. This role is essential in maintaining production continuity, improving supplier performance, and driving long-term quality improvements across the supply chain.

Responsibilities
  • To be the initial interface between the factory and supplier regarding quality deviations.
  • To involve all necessary Husqvarna functions needed to solve supplier related quality problems (Production, R&D, SQA).
  • Drive improvements to internal processes in relation to handling of non-conforming material and Supplier Quality processes.
Key Tasks
  • Provide feedback to suppliers on quality deviations found within the factory processes (Goods-in, assembly, lab etc).
  • Send IQN (Initial Quality Notification) to suppliers.
  • Initiate and drive closure of supplier 8D’s in collaboration with SQA Engineers.
  • Validation of supplier root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions in collaboration with SQA Engineers.
  • 8D progress reporting.
  • Support PCBA analysis in the Quality Lab.
  • Responsibility for disposition of suspect material from suppliers.
  • Regular data collection and KPI reporting.
  • Review and disposition deviation approval requests (DAR).
  • Support and collaborate with Global SQA team.
  • Visit suppliers, where required in conjunction with SQA.
  • Involvement in New Product Introduction process through the development and industrialization stages by supporting Engineering and Manufacturing pilot builds (trial builds).
Additional Skills/Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in a Quality Engineering role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with EMS suppliers desirable.
  • Experience in the automotive sector desirable.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or certification (e.g., Green Belt / Black Belt) desirable.
  • Proficient in quality tools and methodologies (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, SPC, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and data-driven approach.
