Job summary

Belcan seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer in Lincoln, delivering quality for blades and vanes in our Small Gas Turbine business. This hybrid role spans 6 months with Inside IR35 and a 40-hour workweek.

You'll manage non-conformances using 8D, RCA and 5 Why methods, analyse data for trends, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with Energy Quality Management standards and supplier performance KPIs.

Qualifications

• Solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of inspection methodologies and capability.
• Aerospace or similar industry experience.
• GD&T drawing interpretation knowledge.
• Gas turbine blade/vane machining or coating knowledge desirable.
• IT skills including Excel/data manipulation.
• Proficiency in quality methods (5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA) and risk management.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 and SQM/QC routines; ISO9001:2015 understanding.

Hours per Day- 8 hrs and Hours per Week- 40

Contract: Inside IR35 - Paye rate: 35 p/h OR Umbrella rate: 47 per hour

Our Client is an Energy technology company are seeking to recruit SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER at Lincoln location. The role is for a contract position of 6 months Inside IR35. A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for blades and vanes (BV) supporting our Small Gas Turbine (SGT) business, you will be part of a growing team in a position that entails a large responsibility!

Your day will be filled with interesting supplier interactions such as; addressing, processing and containing non-conformances, utilising your quality experience with tools such as 8D, RCA's and 5 why's, analysing data for trends and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate internally with experienced cross-functional teams to uphold client Energy quality standards, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.

How You'll Make an Impact

As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will be involved in Supplier Involvement and Collaboration: Engage with suppliers to help resolve process related issues, including non-conformance management and containment.

You will Oversee supplier quality performance, including corrective and preventive actions, initiate quality improvement programs/initiatives and risk mitigation measures.

You will be continuously monitor and report supplier quality performance, help contribute to KPI's and communicate risks and Support Product and Process Qualifications (PPQ), supporting suppliers in adhering to Energy Quality Management Processes and tools.

What You Bring

• Supplier Quality Engineer will have solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing is required (time served or degree qualified) and dealing with unexpected supplier quality issues from beginning to end.
• Knowledge of inspection methodologies and capability.
• Aerospace or similar industry experience.
• Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Knowledge in gas turbine blade/vane machining, casting and/or surface coating technology would be highly desirable. IT skills including excel/data manipulation.
• Proficiency in quality methods (5 why, FMEA, 8D, RCA) and risk management, with a focus on product functionality, delivery/cost, and resource constraints.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
