Job description

Supplier Quality Engineer

Downton, Wiltshire

Supplier Quality Engineer salary: £40,200 – £45,500

Please note: only applicants with the full-time, permanent right to work in the UK will be considered.

Supplier Quality Engineer Overview:
  • Own supplier quality performance across a varied engineering supply base
  • Lead supplier audits, NCRs, corrective actions and improvement activity
  • Review FAIRs, traceability, certifications and subcontract quality documentation
  • Work closely with Procurement, Engineering and Quality on supplier approval and NPI

This Supplier Quality Engineer role is with an established engineering manufacturer in Downton, supporting a regulated supply chain across raw materials, manufactured components and specialist subcontract processes. The Supplier Quality Engineer will take ownership of supplier quality performance, approvals, audits, corrective actions and development activity, working closely with Procurement, Engineering, Quality and external suppliers.

The Supplier Quality Engineer role

As Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll manage an assigned supplier portfolio and help ensure externally supplied products and processes meet the required technical, quality and traceability standards. You’ll support supplier selection, qualification, surveillance and improvement, while also getting involved in NPI and supplier readiness before manufacture begins.

  • Review FAIRs and associated documentation against AS9102 requirements
  • Check certificates, material records, traceability and supporting quality documentation
  • Support approval and control of suppliers providing specialist subcontract processes
  • Visit suppliers to investigate issues, verify actions and review manufacturing processes
  • Work with Procurement and Engineering during supplier selection and NPI
