Job summary

TKMS ATLAS UK is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for Maritime Defence to ensure components and assemblies meet rigorous standards for mission-critical programmes. Based at Dorset Innovation Park, Winfrith, you will manage supplier quality from qualification through to delivery and lead audits, NCRs and CAPA with internal teams.

Experience in regulated defence/maritime environments and knowledge of tools like 8D, PFMEA and ISO 9001 will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or equivalent in regulated environments.
• Proven ability to audit suppliers, perform non-conformances and drive CAPA.
• Strong interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.

TKMS ATLAS UK develops advanced sonar, autonomous, mine-countermeasure and underwater systems for the Royal Navy and international customers. They are now looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure components and assemblies meet the demanding standards required for mission‑critical maritime programmes.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing supplier quality performance from qualification and product introduction through to manufacture and delivery.
• Conducting supplier audits, inspections and quality reviews.
• Investigating non‑conformances and leading root‑cause and corrective‑action activity.
• Working with suppliers and internal engineering, procurement and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues.
• Supporting supplier development and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

• Experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer or Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer.
• Strong supplier auditing, non‑conformance and corrective‑action experience.
• Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa and CAPA.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience within defence, maritime, aerospace or another regulated engineering environment would be advantageous.
• Exposure to composites, welding or IPC‑controlled electronic assemblies is particularly desirable. Experience of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, First Article Inspection, ISO 9001 or AS9100 would also be beneficial.
• A relevant engineering, manufacturing or quality qualification-or equivalent industry experience-is required.
