Job summary

Baker Hughes PPS is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality activities, drive audits, qualifications, and continuous improvement across engineering, manufacturing and sourcing, ensuring compliance with drawings and quality requirements.

You will monitor KPIs, support MRB decisions, manage SCARs, and develop supplier scorecards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to raise supplier performance and reduce quality risk.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • 5+ years in Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Strong project management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies and quality improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and statistical analysis methods.
  • Lead Auditor certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point for supplier quality activities across the business.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers to meet drawings, specs, and customer flow-downs.
  • Lead supplier qualification activities and onboarding processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement via issue analysis, audits, and corrective action management.
  • Participate in MRB meetings and support quality decision-making.
  • Monitor KPIs like non-conformities, COQ, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Perform supplier audits, document findings, and close audit actions.
  • Manage supplier deviation requests and resolutions.
  • Conduct first-piece qualifications for new parts and document approvals in ESQM.
  • Execute SCARs, process controls, and supplier QA initiatives.
  • Track COQ and drive recovery with suppliers.
  • Develop supplier quality scorecards, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with PPS, sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and site quality teams.

Partnering with the Best

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will serve as the focal point for supplier quality activities across the PPS business. You will provide technical guidance to suppliers, drive supplier qualifications, manage quality issues, and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality requirements. You will collaborate with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to improve supplier performance and reduce quality risks. You will lead audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver high‑quality products and exceptional customer value.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Serving as the focal point for supplier quality activities within the Baker Hughes PPS business.
  • Providing technical guidance to suppliers to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and customer flow‑down requirements.
  • Leading supplier qualification activities and supporting supplier onboarding processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement programs through issue analysis, surveillance audits, and corrective action management.
  • Participating in Management Review Board (MRB) meetings and supporting quality decision‑making processes.
  • Monitoring and reporting supplier quality KPIs, including non‑conformities, cost of quality, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
  • Performing supplier audits, documenting findings, and driving closure of audit actions.
  • Managing supplier deviation requests and ensuring appropriate resolution.
  • Conducting first‑piece qualifications for new parts and documenting approvals in quality systems such as ESQM.
  • Executing Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), process control activities, and supplier quality assurance initiatives.
  • Monitoring Supplier Cost of Quality (COQ) and driving recovery activities with suppliers.
  • Supporting development of supplier quality scorecards, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Collaborating closely with PPS, sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and site quality teams to coordinate supplier quality improvements.
Fuel Your Passion
To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Have an Engineering degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Have strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Have experience using structured problem‑solving methodologies and quality improvement tools.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams.
  • Have a results‑oriented mindset with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Have knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, quality tools, and statistical analysis methods.
  • Have experience within industries such as Oil & Gas, Energy, Automotive, Aerospace, or Industrial Manufacturing.
  • Have hands‑on experience in Electronics, Machining, Fabrication, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Have experience managing supplier qualifications, audits, corrective actions, and supplier development programs.
  • Have proficiency with supplier quality systems, scorecards, and reporting tools.
  • Have Lead Auditor certification from a recognized accreditation body.
