Job description

If you're a Supplier Development professional who knows how to get the best from your suppliers - not just manage them - then this one's for you.

You will need to have significant experience in working with sheet metal & machining suppliers including capacity & capability assessments ideally with exposure to surface treatments.

We are working with a leading manufacturer who are ramping up delivery volumes and looking to strengthen their supply chain function. This isn't just firefighting - it is strategic supplier development, working on sub-assemblies and advanced technical components that feed into some of the most important programmes in the UK right now.

****Due to the nature of the work, you'll need to be a British Citizen or a dual national with UK citizenship. Security checks will apply****

What we are looking for:

You will ideally be a degree-calibre supply chain professional with experience working in high-tech sectors - aerospace, defence, complex manufacturing - and you'll understand how to dig into supplier performance, spot risks early and work collaboratively to turn things around.

You will need to be confident with:

  • Improving supplier performance through lean tools and techniques
  • Carrying out capacity audits and analysing production bottlenecks
  • Managing supplier risk and reporting into programme teams
  • Using DMAIC and other methodologies to implement improvements
  • Working across international supply chains and complex sub-tier networks
  • Have experience with sheet metal & machining suppliers

This is a role where you'll need to be comfortable in both the detail and the bigger picture - one minute you're analysing lead times, the next you're mapping capability against future-state demand.

What's in it for you?:

  • Base salary around £50,000 depending on experience
  • Bonus up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)
  • Up to 14% combined pension contributions
  • Flexi-leave - up to 15 additional days
  • Enhanced parental policies and wellbeing support
  • Relocation support if you're moving for the role
  • Subsidised meals
  • Career development in a business that genuinely invests in its people
