Job summary

Upfront Recruitment is seeking a Site Supervisor - Groundworks & Retaining Walls to oversee installation of specialist retaining wall systems across the UK. Salary circa £45,000 plus company van, accommodation when away, food allowance, 23 days' annual leave, and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will report to the Project Manager, supervising installation teams, ensuring safety, programme compliance and quality, while coordinating labour, plant and materials on various sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Previous Site Supervisor or Foreman experience
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification
• Valid CSCS Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong understanding of health and safety on construction sites
• Willingness to travel and work away as required

Responsibilities

• Supervising day-to-day site activities and installation teams
• Overseeing the installation of retaining wall systems and associated groundworks
• Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with RAMS and company procedures
• Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors on site
• Monitoring quality standards and ensuring works meet specification
• Liaising with Project Managers, clients and site representatives
• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress
• Carrying out site inspections and resolving day-to-day issues

Salary and Package Circa £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus company van, paid accommodation when working away, food allowance, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Location

Based from Burntwood, Staffordshire, with projects across the UK. This role involves regular working away from home during the week, with accommodation and subsistence provided.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will supervise the installation of specialist retaining wall systems and associated groundworks on sites across the UK. You will ensure works are completed safely, on programme and in accordance with project specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and site organisation.

The successful candidate will have previous supervisory experience within civil engineering, groundworks, construction or residential infrastructure projects. Experience with retaining walls, earthworks or geotechnical projects would be advantageous but is not essential. You should be comfortable working away from home during the week and be confident leading site teams.
