Kepak Group in Merthyr Tydfil area is recruiting a permanent Supervisor for the Retail Packing Department. The role is full-time, on a 3 days on/3 days off shift, 6.00am to 6.30pm, with a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits.

As part of a large manufacturing organisation, you will help deliver the production plan, manage people, product and process, and ensure compliance with customer and legislative requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure production line team members work safely and efficiently, uphold food safety and quality.
• Act as SM E on equipment and processes; ensure staff are trained.
• Supervise and develop a high performing team; coach Senior Ops.
• Support the Shift Manager in deployment of duties.
• Maintain safety, quality, and health & safety standards; drive KPI monitoring.
• Utilise data analysis and lean tools to reduce waste and cost.
• Promote continuous improvement and write line-based SOPs.

We are pleased to be recruiting for a new, permanent Supervisor to work in our Retail Packing Department.

Working as part of a team, the Supervisor will perform an integral role within the Retail Department assuming responsibility for the delivery of the production plan through effective management of people, product and process and will do so in line with company, customer and legislative requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring that all production line team members are working safely, efficiently, upholding food safety and that product quality is always maintained.
• The SUP will become a Subject Matter Expert on all equipment and process within area of control (Subject to appropriate training).
• Responsibility for ensuring only suitably trained staff complete any work task.
• Developing a high performing team of Senior Ops through ongoing training and coaching and will support the Senior Ops in the execution of their role.
• Supporting the Shift Manager in the deployment of their duties.
• Ensuring that all actions agreed to eliminate or mitigate any risk is always strictly managed and adhered to, managing safety and taking accountability for the safety of their respective team members.
• Ensuring Operational Compliance from a Performance, Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety Perspective.
• Ensuring that company standards are always adhered to following the S (Safety) Q (Quality) P (People) D (Delivery) C (Cost) model by monitoring and controlling company standards through effective KPI management.
• Using data analysis and lean tools and methodologies, the SUP will assist the Shift Manager and strive for a culture of Continuous Improvement actively looking to reduce or eliminate all types of waste from the business and reducing cost to our customer. Such activities may include (but are not limited to): 6S, SIC, TPM, TQM, JIT and SMED.
• Promote a culture of Operational excellence through supporting company policies and lean initiatives playing an active role in its formation and implementation.
• Constructively challenge standards relating to operational performance, food safety, quality and health and safety.
• Escalate problems in a timely manner through the appropriate channels as required offering solutions where appropriate.
• To liaise with the relevant department members in finding solutions to problems.
• Ensure the culture of continuous improvement is maintained and developed in the production area through the delivery of project improvement plans.
• Have an active role in the writing of line-based SOP’s providing accurate information to ensure procedures are accurate.
• Generate ideas for improved performance from your direct reports and action-based improvement plans.
• To uphold and promote the values of the company including Teamwork, Responsibility, Ambition and Passion for Food both internally and external to the organisation.
• Ensure the company return to work procedure is followed at all times.
• Ensure line team are wearing PPE correctly and in line with training.
• Deputise during period of absence for the Production Shift Manager.
