Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire operational teams, always putting safety first.
• Ensure colleagues receive the training and support they need to stay competent and compliant.
• Promote a right first time approach to reduce rework and customer complaints.
• Plan and manage upcoming works to minimise disruption and avoid preventable issues.
• Review and approve contractor risk assessments and method statements.
• Carry out regular safety audits, spotting hazards and implementing improvements.
• Oversee vehicles and drivers, ensuring adherence to company standards and the Highway Code.
• Support additional operational requirements, including overtime when site teams are working at weekends, standby cover for weekend teams, and night working when night connections are being undertaken.

Qualifications

Experience in a supervisory role within the utilities or water sector will be essential, along with a sound understanding of health and safety. An IOSH qualification is desirable, and you should also hold (or be working towards) a minimum SSSTS, with SMSTS preferred. A Streetworks Supervisor card and a CSCS Gold Card (Supervisor) are also important for this role, together with training in safe excavations. You\'ll bring with you a strong working knowledge of the water industry—particularly mainlaying processes—and an understanding of how projects are delivered safely and efficiently from start to finish.
