Job description

The primary objective of this role is to provide effective leadership and ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and high-quality products that meet or exceed our clients' stringent standards. We are seeking a full-time Team Leader for our News Cafe at BaxterStorey, who will be accountable for the following critical responsibilities:

  • Implementing and rigorously enforcing BaxterStorey's strategic vision encompassing People, Product, Customers, Environment, and Profitability
  • Ensuring the consistent delivery of superior customer service through a professional, efficient, and meticulous approach
  • Providing authoritative and decisive leadership to the team, including task allocation, performance management, and continuous evaluation
  • Supporting the Manager in critical daily operational activities and assuming full managerial responsibilities in their absence
  • Coordinating effectively with Front of House (FOH) team to guarantee product excellence, optimal inventory management, and stringent stock control
  • Rigorously maintaining and enforcing the highest standards of food safety, occupational health and safety, and professional presentation
  • Overseeing mission-critical communications and ensuring strict adherence to BaxterStorey policies and procedures, We work together as a team to lead by example, protecting the planet and supporting local communities.

  • Experience and passion in hospitality, retail, or food service
  • Amazing teamwork skills and an ability to drive excellent communication
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Sunday between 6:00 and 22:00 - rota-based schedule
  • Strong customer service focus with a positive attitude and professional presentation
  • Experience in Front-of-house (FOH) operations, including food service and stock control
  • A positive can-do attitude and a desire to improve and win every day
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, especially during peak times
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both front and back-of-house teams
