Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of fostering regulations, child protection legislation, and relevant safeguarding procedures.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join the thriving South West region. You will play a crucial role in supporting our foster carers and ensuring the highest quality of care for children in their placement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster Carer Support: Provide regular supervision, guidance, and support to a caseload of up to 10 foster carers.
  • Child Welfare: Ensure the well-being and safety of children in placement, adhering to all relevant legislation and regulatory standards.
  • Form F Assessments: Conduct thorough Form F assessments of prospective foster carers.
  • Caseload Development: Grow your caseload through proactive recruitment and fostering strong relationships with potential carers.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of care by ensuring all carers meet statutory KPIs and gather evidence to demonstrate positive outcomes for children.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educational staff.
  • Out-of-Hours Responsibilities: Participate in an on-call rota (1:6 weeks) to provide support and guidance to carers and children.
About You
  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration.
  • Proven experience as a Supervising Social Worker within an independent fostering agency (IFA) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of fostering regulations, child protection legislation, and relevant safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills.
  • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with foster carers.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
