Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join the Fostering Service on a part-time basis (29.6 hours/4 days per week). You will support, supervise and train foster carers to provide a safe environment for Southampton’s children and young people.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join our fostering service as a Supervising Social Worker.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our fostering service part‑time (29.6 hours/4 days per week). In the role of Supervising Social Worker you will ensure that the fostering team delivers a high quality service to Southampton Foster Carers. You will provide support, supervision and training for foster carers to provide a safe and secure environment for the children and young people of Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and flexible individual with a recognised social work qualification with knowledge and experience of fostering to join us on our improvement journey to continue to build an invigorated, vibrant and creative fostering service.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £43,150 - £47,664 per annum (pro rata). The starting salary is £43,150 with annual progression through the salary bands.
