Job summary

Calon Cymru Fostering is seeking a Supervising Social Worker to join our team covering the west Wales region. You will supervise and support foster carers, conduct home visits and manage placements to ensure children's needs are met.

This role offers hybrid working (office base Carmarthen) with a manageable caseload, structured supervision, and access to development opportunities and benefits. A recognised social work qualification and registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Social Work qualification.
• Have a current Social Care Wales registration.
• Hold a full UK Driving Licence and have a vehicle.
• Are willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
• Have experience in children’s services and foster care delivery.
• Are willing to participate in an out of hours telephone support system for foster carers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support foster carers and oversee placements.
• Undertake home visits and ensure children's care needs are met.
• Manage placement planning and interventions for referrals (emergency and planned).
• Collaborate with the team to provide a safe, stable environment for looked-after children.

Job Title:Supervising Social Worker

Location:Office base Carmarthen, post allows hybrid home/office working

Salary:Up to £41,736 dependent on experience

Hours:37.5 hours per week.

Calon Cymru Fostering are looking for a passionate Supervising Social Worker to join the team covering our west Wales region. You will be working alongside an established and long serving team of social workers and support workers who assess, supervise and support foster carers. You will have a manageable caseload, allowing you to focus on ensuring that our children and young people reach their full potential. In return, you will have access to a host of benefits and regular supervision from an experienced manager.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will keep in touch and undertake home visits with our foster carers and children/young people, becoming an essential point of contact. You will be responsible for ensuring that children’s care and development needs are met within placements by undertaking necessary placement management, planning and intervention for both emergency and planned referrals. As a key member within the team you will ensure that our children/young people have a safe, stable environment in which they feel loved and cared for and are nurtured to reach their full potential.
