An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to lead the CT service at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and the Princess of Wales Hospital. There are two CT Superintendent posts, one on each hospital site, and candidates are welcome to apply for both posts.
The successful candidates will possess strong clinical, leadership and teaching skills to ensure a first‑class patient‑centred service and adherence to Welsh Government targets. Specialist knowledge of CT and an innovative approach to service delivery is required to support the development and delivery of high‑quality services across Radiology, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
You will be based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital or the Princess of Wales Hospital but will be expected to have a flexible approach within your role and to work in partnership with the CT Superintendent Radiographers across the Health Board to ensure standardisation of CT working practices.
Each of the CT departments have two GE Revolution Apex CT scanners providing in‑patient and out‑patient services. We support a busy Stroke and Trauma service and have a well‑established Cardiac CT service in addition to performing a wide range of interventional procedures.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the operational management of the CT Department in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital or Princess of Wales Hospital and for the organisation of the department's workload in partnership with the administration staff to ensure patients' examinations are scheduled within appropriate timescales based on clinical need. They will be the lead clinical CT Radiographer in the chosen hospital, responsible for training new CT staff and ensuring the CT team adhere to the Organisation's Policies and Procedures, Local Rules and I(R(ME)R updating Duty Holder Entitlements as necessary. They will manage staff Personal Development Reviews and absence management in line with Policy, and ensure equipment used within the CT Department is maintained in line with manufacturers guidance, with faults reported in a timely manner to reduce downtime of equipment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
