The RAC is looking for a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic to join the Portsmouth cluster, responding to roadside calls and diagnosing faults to get members back on the road quickly.

Expect around 40 hours per week with shifts from 06:00 to 02:00, including weekends/holidays. You will carry your own toolkit, keep the van stocked, and submit precise reports while enjoying competitive pay and benefits.

Formación

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is required.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is required.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose faults and repair vehicles at the roadside.
• Handle a range of tasks from flat tyres to flat batteries and complex diagnostics.
• Manage your own toolkit, keep your van stocked, and file reports with precision.

Hours & Shifts

• Weekly variety: You'll work the on average 40 hours per week across the year, receiving your roster seven days in advance with your core working hours confirmed three days prior.
• Thrive outside of 9-5: Shifts will fall between 06:00 and 02:00, and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Location

You’ll be part of the Portsmouth cluster, covering areas like Portsmouth, Havant, Waterlooville, Fareham, Gosport, Chichester, Emsworth. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
