Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Superflex Roadside Mechanic in the Guildford area. You will be part of a team that responds to local roadside incidents across Guildford, Woking and surrounding areas, with a 40-hour week and a roster planned in advance.

Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays to support members on the road. You’ll operate with a focus on diagnostics, repairs, and customer service, backed by a structured development pathway and access to industry

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside calls and diagnose faults on-site.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance to enable members to get back on the road.
• Manage your kit, van, and reports with accuracy and timeliness.

Flexibility deserves recognition – and we deliver. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on.

• Competitive salary:£55,869 basic salary (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable), with the opportunity to earn up to £61,000
• Weekly variety:You’ll work the on average 40 hours per week across the year, receiving your roster seven days in advance with your core working hours confirmed three days prior.
• Thrive outside of 9-5:Shifts will fall between 06:00 and 02:00, and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Where you’ll work:You’ll be part of the Guildford cluster, covering areas like Guildford, Woking, Farnham, Camberley, Aldershot, Fleet, Godalming, Haslemere, Lightwater.

We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you’ll need...

Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
