Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Superflex Roadside Mechanic for the Guildford cluster, covering Guildford and surrounding towns. You’ll respond to roadside calls and get members back on the road quickly.

You’ll work shifts between 06:00 and 02:00, with a van, fuel card, uniform and diagnostic kit provided. You’ll have opportunities to develop technically and benefit from a competitive package including holidays and pension.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with a full UK driving licence (≤6 points).
• Evidence of practical hands-on automotive maintenance and roadside diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside calls and diagnose faults to get members back on the road.
• Manage and maintain your kit and van stock and complete reports.
• Deliver professional customer service while working in dynamic roadside environments.

Join the RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic

Flexibility deserves recognition – and we deliver. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on.

• Competitive salary:£55,869 basic salary (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable), with the opportunity to earn up to £61,000
• Weekly variety:You’ll work the on average 40 hours per week across the year, receiving your roster seven days in advance with your core working hours confirmed three days prior.
• Thrive outside of 9-5:Shifts will fall between 06:00 and 02:00, and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Where you’ll work:You’ll be part of the Guildford cluster, covering areas like Guildford, Woking, Farnham, Camberley, Aldershot, Fleet, Godalming, Haslemere, Lightwater.

We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you’ll need...

Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
