Job summary

Arup in Newcastle is offering a 6-week Summer Internship in Structural Engineering with our Buildings teams across the UK. This is a great chance for a student passionate about building design to join a multi-disciplinary group and gain real project exposure.

Typical days include structural calculations, analysis and modelling, selecting economical, low-carbon solutions, and communicating through drawings, BIM, reports and meetings.

Qualifications

• MSc, MEng or BEng in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• Genuine interest in structural engineering and a career in the built environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural calculations, analysis and modelling.
• Communicate design concepts through drawings, BIM, reports and meetings.
• Assist in developing economical, low-embodied-carbon engineering solutions.
