Job summary

Arup is seeking a student for a 6-week Summer Internship in Structural Engineering based in Birmingham. You will join Buildings teams across the UK and work on a range of projects from concept to implementation, applying structural analysis, modelling and practical design decisions.

The role requires an active MSc/MEng/BEng in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering and a genuine interest in building design and sustainable development.

Qualifications

• Studying towards an MSc, MEng or BEng in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent qualification
• A genuine interest in structural engineering and in developing a career in the built environment

Responsibilities

• Carrying out structural calculations, analysis and modelling and finding structural engineering solutions
• Choosing structures and details that are economical and practical, that minimise embodied carbon and support project sustainability goals
• Communicating through drawings, sketches, digital modelling, calculation documents, BIM, meetings, presentations, emails and reports
