Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) offers an internship program in London, providing hands-on work on risk, finance, and technology projects. You will participate in weekly sessions, connect with mentors, and gain exposure to the financial services and mortgage industries.

The Risk Analyst Intern will support the Model, Credit, and Enterprise Risk teams with data-driven analysis and reporting. Internship runs from late June to early September 2027, with full-time hours at the London office

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year undergrad in Finance, Risk, or a technical discipline.
• Solid data analytical skills with Python or similar.
• Strong interest in financial markets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop risk metrics and contribute to key projects and leadership reports.
• Contribute to operational risk assessment of key business processes.
• Review regulatory initiatives to assess impact on ICE Clear Europe and identify emerging risks.
• Use Python and SQL to build and run risk metrics and tests, and maintain the operational risk database.
• Support independent model validation through quantitative analysis, testing, and assessment of risk models.
• Work with senior team members on credit reviews and due diligence for clearing members, banks, and other financial institutions.

The Risk Analyst Intern will support the Model, Credit, and Enterprise Risk teams, contributing to risk metrics, model validation, and credit review activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop risk metrics, contribute to key projects, and prepare reports for senior leadership
• Contribute to operational risk assessment of key business processes
• Review regulatory initiatives to assess impact on ICE Clear Europe and identify emerging risks through stakeholder and external surveys
• Use Python and SQL to build and run risk metrics and tests, and maintain the operational risk database
• Support independent model validation through quantitative analysis, testing, and assessment of risk models
• Work with senior team members on credit reviews and due diligence for clearing members, banks, and other financial institutions

Knowledge and Experience

• Applicant must be studying in their penultimate year of a bachelor's degree (Finance, Risk, or a technical discipline)
• Solid data analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets using Python or other programming languages
• Strong interest in financial markets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Internship Program Schedule

Internships start on 28 June 2027 and run until 10 September 2027.

Please note: Interns should be available to work full-time, 5 days a week, at our London office for the entire duration of the internship program. Partial participation or alternate dates cannot be accommodated.
