Job summary

Ankura invites you to spend your summer with the AI by Design team, exploring how AI can transform decisions, governance and delivery. You will research use cases, help test safeguards and map impact, while building small prototypes and automated workflows using AI platforms.

On track for a 2:1 undergraduate degree, you will work with experienced colleagues across AI strategy, governance and workforce transformation, gaining practical, hands-on experience and exposure to ecosystem partners.

Qualifications

• Curiosity about AI and its impact on business decisions and responsible technology use.
• Willingness to explore all three disciplines (AI Strategy, AI Governance Engineering, AI Workforce Transformation).
• Analytical approach with careful checking of sources and distinguishing evidence from assumptions.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain ideas and listen to diverse perspectives.
• Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and ability to ask for help.
• Enthusiasm for experimenting with AI tools and understanding their limits.
• Interest in AI's human impact and how to manage associated risks.
• Coursework, personal projects or coding/low-code experience is useful but not essential.

Ankura – AI by Design’s Summer Internships let you encounter the questions behind the technology: what is worth building, how to make it responsible and what people need to adopt it. You will focus on at least one of AI Strategy, AI Governance Engineering or AI Workforce Transformation, where you'll explore those questions with experienced colleagues. You could research a use case, help test a safeguard or map how a team's work could change. Alongside this, you'll use AI platforms to help build and evaluate small prototypes, assistants or automated workflows, learning by trying, testing and improving.

What you'll gain

You'll see how the three disciplines connect, from choosing an opportunity to testing a solution and driving adoption & change. Exposure to our ecosystem partners, leading technology companies and frontier AI firms will broaden your understanding of different approaches. Hands‑on platform work will help you explore how AI tools are built, evaluated and used responsibly. You'll practise researching unfamiliar topics, explaining findings and collaborating across technical and business perspectives. With guidance from colleagues, you'll learn to ask useful questions, respond to feedback and present your contribution clearly. The experience will help you assess your interests and explore a future career in AI advisory or delivery.

Requirements
