Job summary

A leading global Energy Job Board is seeking an experienced Substation Project Engineer to work on transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering and at least 3 years of high-voltage substation experience. Responsibilities include creating project layouts, reviewing designs, and ensuring safety in installations. This role offers a daily rate of £750 and is remote, starting ASAP.

• Creating outline scope, site location plans, and layouts for new build and asset replacement projects.
• Reviewing contractor designs and witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Implementing safety by design principles for risk control.
• Supporting operational teams to ensure quality installations.
• Evaluating tenders and managing specialist services.

Duration: 6-Months + Possible Extension
Rates: £750 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Creating outline scope, site location plans, primary plant layout and Single Line Diagrams for new build and asset replacement type projects, operating up to 400kV.
• Reviewing contractor/consultants detailed designs and witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Implementing safety by design principles to ensure that engineering and safety risks are adequately controlled.
• Support site and operational teams to ensure the quality of installations, with minimal risk to Network security.
• Evaluate tenders and procure and manage specialist services from consultants
